Frequently asked questions
Where is my data stored? Can Hypnox see it?
No — and not because we promise to look away. Hypnox runs no servers for your data. Everything lives on your devices and in your iCloud. There's no account and nothing to sign up for. The full picture is in our Privacy Policy.
Sync between my devices seems delayed. Is something wrong?
Usually not. Sync rides Apple's iCloud, which batches changes — a short delay (occasionally a few minutes) is normal, and iOS pauses sync in Low Power Mode or with poor connectivity. Quick checks:
- Both devices signed into the same Apple Account, with iCloud → Lactis enabled.
- Network is up and Low Power Mode is off.
- Open Lactis and pull to refresh — the sync chip shows when data last moved.
If a device is stuck for hours, restart it — that resolves most iCloud sync stalls.
My partner accepted the invite but the log isn't appearing. What now?
Caregiver sharing runs on Apple's iCloud sharing, so both sides need iCloud healthy:
- The caregiver must be signed into their own Apple Account (not yours) with iCloud Drive on.
- Open the invite link on the caregiver's iPhone, with Lactis already installed.
- First-time joins can take a little while on the "Syncing…" screen while the history arrives — keep the app open on Wi-Fi.
- Still stuck? Have the owner revoke the invite in Lactis and send a fresh one, then email us.
How do I restore my Pro or Lifetime purchase on a new phone?
Purchases follow your Apple Account. On the new device, open Lactis → Settings → Restore Purchases, and make sure you're signed into the same Apple Account that bought it. Subscriptions are managed (and cancelled) in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Do I have to use iCloud?
No. With sync off, Lactis runs fully on-device — nothing leaves your iPhone at all. iCloud sync is only needed for multi-device use and caregiver sharing, and you can turn it on later; your history syncs up when you do. Either way, make occasional exports if you want a backup you hold yourself.
How do exports and imports work?
Settings → Export creates a complete file of your history that you own — save it to Files, or anywhere you like. On a new device (or after starting fresh), Settings → Import brings it back. Export is free and unlimited; your data is never locked in.
What exactly is free, and what does Pro add?
Free covers everything you need at 3 AM: all logging, timers, Live Activities, widgets, Night Mode, the Apple Watch app, Siri, your full history, export/import, up to 2 babies, and sharing with one caregiver. Lactis Pro (or the one-time Lifetime unlock) adds the outputs and household scale: Patterns insights, growth percentile charts, doctor and daycare PDF reports, Sleep Tide forecasts, 3+ caregivers, and 3+ babies.
How accurate is Sleep Tide?
Sleep Tide forecasts likely sleep windows from your baby's own recent rhythm. It gets sharper as you log more, and it's honest about uncertainty — it shows a window, not a promise. Babies change fast (growth spurts, regressions, travel), so treat it as a well-informed suggestion, never a schedule to enforce. It is not medical advice; for sleep concerns, talk to your baby's doctor.
How do I delete my data — or start over?
Deleting entries in the app removes them from your device and, with sync on, from your iCloud. To remove everything, delete the baby (or the app's iCloud data under iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage) — no email or approval from us required, because we never had a copy.
Does the Apple Watch app cost extra?
No. The Watch app — logging, timers, complications — is free, like all capture in Lactis.
Still stuck?
The universal fixes, in order: make sure iOS and Lactis are current → toggle the relevant setting off and on → restart the iPhone. If it persists, email [email protected] with the steps you tried — screenshots help, and we genuinely read every message.
